Community Expansion of Nutrition Assistance (CENA) Grant Program

Areawide Aging Agency is pleased to announce the upcoming release of the Request for Applications (RFA) for the Community Expansion of Nutrition Assistance (CENA) Grant Program. Applications will be open May 27,2026 until June 12, 2026 at 5pm.

The CENA Grant is an Oklahoma state-funded program administered through the Oklahoma Department of Commerce in partnership with local Area Agencies on Aging (AAA) and Councils of Government. The purpose of the grant is to support senior centers and expand nutrition and supportive services for older adults throughout Oklahoma communities. Eligible organizations are encouraged to apply for funding to support programs and services benefiting adults age 60 and older. Funding may be used for a variety of operational and program-related expenses, including but not limited to:

  • Senior meals and nutrition programs
  • Food purchases
  • Utilities
  • Kitchen and facility equipment
  • Building maintenance and repairs
  • Insurance
  • Transportation related to senior services
  • Other operational support for senior centers
